Breastfeeding can be a wonderful, magical experience when everything goes right. Reality is that sometimes things get in the way and we need help to meet our breastfeeding/infant feeding goals. That is what I am here for! I come to your home and bring 20 years of breastfeeding experience with me. As an Occupational Therapist and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) I am able to provide evaluations to both parent and baby that will help us put a plan in place. Don’t struggle on your own! Feeding your baby is a huge part of your life with an infant. Let’s make it better for all involved. Breastfeeding is a valuable experience that provides lifelong benefit. It is worth figuring out how to make it better. Not breastfeeding? No problem, I can help with bottle feeding too!
I have advance skills and training for tethered oral tissues otherwise known as tongue tie and lip tie. This is my specialty area. I work in collaboration with several area providers to provide the best care possible to babies that are found to be tied. My skills as an OT allow me to work on body issues that contribute to reduced tongue mobility.
*What is an IBCLC? This is the highest level of training available to breastfeeding professionals. Don’t settle for less!
This is a specialty area for me. I love to help families get to the root of why feeding their baby isn’t going as well as they’d like. I continually grow my skills in this area to meet baby and parents needs. There is no reason to wait. If someone suspects a “mild” tie you need to get another evaluation. (note: I am not a doctor so do not diagnose.) I can assess for symptoms and connect you with appropriate resources. If we suspect a tie is part of the problem, it may take several visits to prepare baby for release. We want baby to be ready to help them get best results.
Breastfeeding sessions can focus on whatever your problem areas are to meet your goals. These are in your home! Prenatal visits available and across the whole spectrum of breastfeeding children.
Bottle feeding can be challenging. This may be due to structural problems such as tongue tie or having a baby that needs to learn this skill. I am able to help your baby take a bottle. This is not done in one visit, but builds on skills over time.
TTM is therapeutic tummy time. This is a wonderful method to address body tension from difficult births, tongue ties and to encourage healthy development. It’s a beautiful way to connect with your infant. This is a one on one session in your home. Group sessions available upon request.
